Who We Are

The Institute of Strategic Management, Nigeria (ISMN) is a professional management association, which specializes in strategic leadership and governance. The Institute was established in 2003 as an independent, non-government, non-profit organization. Our Vision is to be a world-class professional body, a pan-African best reference in strategic management, and a key player in positioning Nigeria and Africa for leadership in the global society.

Our mission is to advance and promote knowledge and skills in the practice of strategic management, strategic leadership, strategic entrepreneurship, and governance through research, publications, education, training, certification, induction and regulation of students and members. To date, we have over fifteen thousand members at Associate, Full Membership, and Fellowship levels.

The Institute currently has a membership base of over 25,000 members spanning associate, full member, and fellowship. Many of our members are occupying strategic positions in their organizations and are constantly adding value to their stakeholders. This diversified membership base also provides an array of options to the Institute in delivering practical solutions to organizational and societal challenges.

ISMN undertakes training of members on a continuous basis in strategic management, strategic leadership, and governance. Our periodic Mandatory Continuous Development Programmes (MCPDs) are geared towards enriching our members’ knowledge of contemporary tools and techniques in strategy formulation, implementation, and evaluation.
