“The world in 2100: Positioning Nigeria for Strategic Advantage”; that is the Institute’s theme for 2014. The theme was chosen by the Governing Council at its meeting held in Lagos recently. The choice of the theme is informed by the need to alert all stakeholders to the fact that profound changes are happening (albeit in an incremental basis) that will radically have consequences for Nigeria and the world. These consequences will either be beneficial or encumbering to Nigeria depending on her state of preparedness.
Realizing the knack of Nigeria for short-termism, ISMN intends to create a paradigm shift from our contingency approach as a nation to a strategic one by awakening all to the realities of an increasingly turbulent world. The 2014 Annual Conference will paint the world scenario in 2100 and beyond.
